01
Getting Started
What to expect before you commit to anything.
What happens on the discovery call?
It is a 30-minute conversation with Tiffiny or Simon. We ask about your business, what is currently taking up too much of your time, what systems or tools you are using and what you have already tried. We listen more than we talk. At the end, we tell you honestly whether we think we can help and what that might look like. There is no pitch and no pressure.
How quickly can you start after the discovery call?
We send a proposal within 48 hours of the call. Once you confirm, we begin immediately. Most clients are fully onboarded and operational within two weeks. We do not have a lengthy intake process or a ramp-up period.
What if I am not sure what I need?
That is exactly what the discovery call is for. You do not need to come in with a clear brief. Many founders book a call knowing only that things are not working the way they should. We help you identify the right starting point together.
Do you work with businesses outside the UK and Germany?
Yes. We work remotely with clients across Europe and internationally. Our team is based in Germany and the UK, and we have experience supporting businesses operating across multiple countries and time zones.
02
Working Together
What the day-to-day reality of working with us looks like.
Who actually does the work?
Tiffiny and Simon. We do not outsource your work to a team you have never met. The people you speak to on the call are the people doing the work. This is deliberate. It means the quality stays consistent and the relationship is direct.
How do we communicate day to day?
We adapt to whatever works best for you. Most clients communicate via email, Slack or WhatsApp depending on preference. We establish clear response time expectations at the start and stick to them. You will never be left wondering where something is up to.
How do you handle confidential business information?
With the same discretion you would expect from a senior internal hire. Everything we see and handle in your business stays in your business. We sign an NDA as part of onboarding, and we take data handling seriously by operating within GDPR requirements.
What if my needs change after we start?
Scope adjusts as your business does. If you need more support in a particular area, or if something becomes less of a priority, we adjust accordingly. Changes are discussed and reflected in the next monthly agreement. There is no penalty for changing direction.
03
Services & Scope
What we do, and just as importantly, what we do not.
What makes Set & Scale different from a standard VA?
A standard VA executes tasks as assigned. Set & Scale brings operational thinking to the work. We look at the business as a whole, identify what is causing friction, build systems that reduce repetition and help founders make better decisions about how their business runs. We do the hands-on work and the thinking behind it.
What industries do you work with?
We have worked across logistics, education, wellness, coaching, professional services, e-commerce and tech. The common thread is founders and small teams who are good at what they do but need operational support to scale. If that describes you, the industry is usually not a barrier.
What tools and platforms do you work with?
We work across a wide range, including GoHighLevel, HubSpot, Notion, Asana, Trello, Zapier, ActiveCampaign, Mailchimp, SevDesk, Wix, Squarespace, Shopify, Cloudflare, Google Workspace and more. If you use a tool that is not on this list, we are used to learning quickly and will be upfront if something is outside our scope.
Is there anything you do not do?
We are operations and systems people, not creatives by trade. We do not offer professional graphic design, brand strategy or paid advertising management. For those areas we can help you find and brief the right people, but we would not position ourselves as specialists in those fields.
Can you support in German?
Yes. Both Tiffiny and Simon are fluent in German and English. We have supported bilingual operations across German and English-speaking clients and can handle correspondence, documents and coordination in both languages.
04
Investment & Contracts
Clear answers about pricing, terms and flexibility.
Do I need to sign a long-term contract?
No. We work on rolling monthly arrangements. There is no minimum term and no penalty for stopping. We ask for 30 days notice to close an engagement so we can hand everything back cleanly and wrap up properly.
How is pricing structured?
We work on monthly retainers based on scope, not hourly billing. This gives you predictable costs and means we are always available rather than tracking time. For project-based work, we can agree a fixed fee. You can see our starting point packages on the Pricing page.
What currency do you invoice in?
We invoice in GBP as standard. For clients based outside the UK, we can agree an equivalent in EUR at the time of proposal. We reference the Wise mid-market rate for currency conversion.
What if it is not the right fit?
We would rather you tell us early than continue with something that is not working. If after the first month it is not what you needed, we wrap up cleanly, hand everything back and part ways without any drama. We would rather have an honest short engagement than a long one that does not serve you well.
05
Business Command Center
Questions about the BCC product and how it works.
What is the Business Command Center?
The Business Command Center (BCC) is a founder-focused operations dashboard built by Set & Scale. It gives you a single place to see tasks, projects, client activity, team status and business health at a glance. It is currently in private beta and available as part of the Command Center package or as a standalone product for qualifying businesses.
How is the BCC different from tools like Notion or Asana?
Those tools are flexible but require significant setup to become useful. The BCC is built specifically for founders who need operational visibility without spending time configuring a system. It comes pre-structured around how a founder-led business actually operates, with the key views already built in.
How do I get access to the BCC?
The BCC is currently in private beta. You can apply for access at bcc.set-scale.com. Beta access is limited and reviewed on a rolling basis. All Command Center package clients receive access as part of their engagement.
